The Dunbury CE VC First School

Welcome to your new home in this lovely part of Dorset. We would like to also welcome you and your children to The Dunbury School.
What is The Dunbury School?
Dunbury is a first school and we cater for children from 4 to 9 years.
It is an unusual school, having bases in four villages.

How did that come about?
In 1993, to secure the future of the village schools of Milton Abbas, Whitechurch, Stickland, and Kingston, the schools united under one Headteacher as a Church of England Federated School.

Does it work?
Yes! Dunbury School is a model that has attracted interest from all over the country.

Why 'Dunbury'?

Dunbury Hill is a local landmark after which we named our new school.

A School rooted in the community

We value our community links greatly. We draw on local people and the learning opportunities provided by our locality. We retain a village feel - but have the resources to offer children a wider experience than is often possible in rural schools.

A Caring Community

Dunbury is place where academic quality is important, but where caring and creativity matter a great deal too. We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities: athletics, gymnastics, cricket, football, recorders, singing…

What did OFSTED say about us?

· "National curriculum planning across the four bases is of a very high quality."

· "Provision for pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent overall."

· "The school is very well managed, with a clear vision and very effective leadership."
